Cover Text
President Gordon B. Hinckley has said: “Even though some of you may be fully occupies with families and have little time for other things at this stage of your lives, you can enlarge your minds and broaden your understanding through the reading of good books . . . You may think you are too busy. Ten or fifteen minutes a day with the scriptures, and particularly with the Book of Mormon, can give you marvelous understanding of the power of the Almighty for the blessing of His children.” Likewise, the prophet has counseled members of the Church to read the Book of Mormon together as families. The Book of Mormon for Latter-day Saint Families, like its predecessor The New Testament for Latter-day Saint Families, is a valuable tool for parents and children who wish to follow this counsel. This beautifully bound book contains the full text of the Book of Mormon in large type and an easy-to-read design. In the footnotes of this indispensable volume, hard-to-understand words are defined in simple terms, important concepts are explained and developed, and questions to ponder and discuss are asked of young readers. Beautiful, full-color illustrations and paintings – some of which have never been in print before – by Clark Kelley Price, Robert Barrett, Scott Snow, Del Parson, Garry Kapp, Ted Henniger, and Tom Lovell accent the text.

This book is great. My son who is leaving this month for his mission has enjoyed it so much. He has learned the meanings of words and loves the additional information to inhance his knowledge. My 13 year old enjoys it as much. She is in seminary and has taken this book to share with others. It's wonderful.

Absolutely fabulous! The pictures are new and so descriptive and beautiful. I feel the subtext notations are absolutely necessary to help young readers understand the text. The entire format invites one to read, especially the young. It is so well done that one may open any page and develop a lesson. Thanks!

What a wonderful book! My young children have really enjoyed this book with its accompanying pictures and explanations. There are pictures on about every other page. Even though I have been a member all of my life, this book has brought greater understanding of the Book of Mormon to me and my children. It is a MUST for families with young children.

This morning my 10 year old daughter read aloud this book. She gladly read the highlights and even became silent as she was curious about pictures. She voluntarily read more than usual. I'm very satisfied about how this book motivates kids!
This is a very valuable and much needed addition to an LDS library. The title is somewhat presumptuous considering the volume of single LDS readers, but, this book provides a more digestable way to feast on the words of God with the addition of numerous maps and quotes not found in the standard edition of this Standard Work. It also makes for a more enjoyable way to browse the scriptures for the young--perhaps a justifiable reason to brand this edition for "families."Nevertheless the topics of the Book of Mormon and New Testament are not as soundly researched as a tome like this suggests. In other words, this book (and its sister companion, "The New Testament for Latter-day Saint Families,") hopefully will inspire the reader to study more and not lull them into a false sense of a secure knowledge if they, indeed, read all this book has to offer. Yet if either book can make the texts seem more accessible, understandable and inspirational to the reader, perhaps it will have accomplished its primary use.

We have just begun to enjoy this incredible book. It's insights and descriptions are so helpful in understanding the Book of Mormon. Also, the pictures are enchanting to our granddaughter Tristyn.

Our family loves to read from the Book of Mormon for LDS Families. It has been well worth the money spent. The photos and art work are inspiring. The quotes from general authorities, historical information and photos, definitions, and scriptural references make it even more enjoyable to read. The print is large. This is especially great for the youngest readers, those of us who are just a little older and need larger print, or for reading together. Can hardly wait to see how you do the Old Testament and Doctrine and Covenants.

I would like about 5 copies to send to friends of mine in the USA.
